It seems the png’s generated in place of the old plain text headlines graphics is somewhat irregular. Which results in some strange rendering on page load/refresh with the end result sometimes giving you a PNG heading and other times a text-based heading.
Using FireFox, the end result appears fine either way but using IE (yuck) the headings appear as broken images.
Is this a new WP feature or a plugin?

Hmm. Works for me in IE. Strange.
It’s a plugin for WP called (unimaginatively but that’s ok) “Header Image Generator”.
Send me a screenshot if you can repro the failure, please.

I have emailed you a screenshot. I played a little more and consitently found upon first view of the main page, the header images are broken but if I go from HOME -> BLOG ENTRY -> HOME the PNG’s then show up fine. I notice similar behaviour with FireFox.

the problem is that the URLs were working for http://www.ascher.ca/blog, but not for david.ascher.ca/ I’ve disabled the plugins until I can figure it out.

Your RSS continued to work after the upgrade? Lucky.
I didn’t notice that my RSS and Atom feeds were dead for a while – initially blaming Bloglines for a couple days.
